The Reality:

According to the Amputee Coalition of America, there are nearly 2 million amputees in the United States living with limb loss. One out of every 2,000 new born babies has some form of limb deficiency. In addition, there are 253 new amputations per day due to diabetes alone! More American soldiers are suffering amputations from the Mid-Eastern conflicts than any time since the Civil War. Globally there is a new amputee every 31 seconds.

Unfortunately, many amputees become sedentary, overweight, depressed, and non-productive as a result of their limb loss. Amputee In Action, Inc. seeks to be a positive catalyst in the amputee community to Get Up and Get Active!
